El Bocho / Arte / French-German TV
El Bocho on German TV.

Today Benjamin Wolberg promoted his book ‘Urban Illustration: Street Art City Guide Berlin‘ (2007) on Chic. Most of the works shown in the book have been removed, but some like Little Lucy by El Bocho (above) are still in the right place. Chic is a show that runs on the bilingual French-German TV station Arte.
By the way: An interview with El Bocho on German TV is coming to this blog in two weeks. Watch out.

El Bocho / Hamburg Exhibition details
Details about El Bocho’s show on 5.3. to 5.4. in the Mono Concept Gallery / Hamburg.

A few details about the upcoming show:
El Bocho will show works mostly from his Kalle und Bernd series, but also a few Little Lucy works. The work will not only consists of canvases, but includes artwork installed in the venue and that involves interaction with the audience. All works are unpublished and never seen before. A few canvases were created in collaboration with fellow Street Artist Alias (Berlin).
A few infos about Kalle und Bernd:
Kalle and Bernd are two surveillance cameras that lead a lonely life on the streets of Berlin. Surveillance cameras have been a traditional sujet to the street art scene, but rather than following an intrusive message, El Bocho uses a humorous approach. The cameras usually talk to pedestrians or to each other, enforcing a dialog and cultivating thoughts about their presence. Rather then telling the viewers how to react to cameras and what to think about them, El Bocho enforces arriving at a certain level of understanding. El Bocho trusts in the viewer’s ability to find their own point of view and act upon it.
